Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.
Cultural customs and traditional practices must not take precedence over the biblical guidelines for human relationships. Our heavenly Father declares the value and dignity of human life. Adults and children are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139). God's Word must have the final authority in regulating compassionate treatment of every human being, including children.

Desert Oasis Chapel is a proud sponsor of Alba, who lives in Guatemala and is in the 5th grade at the Maranatha Student Center. Alba enjoys reading and helps her mother in the kitchen and cleaning while her father works as a farmer.
