Ever feel like you’re an outsider—an emotional orphan? Because you identify as being GLBTQ, have you been disowned by your family, or driven out of your church? If you are lonely and isolated or have been deeply wounded, I have good news for you: God has a plan for His “black sheep”!

Ever feel like you’re an outsider—an emotional orphan? Because you identify as being GLBTQ, have you been disowned by your family, or driven out of your church? If you are lonely and isolated or have been deeply wounded, I have good news for you: God has a plan for His “black sheep”!

Based on the wonderful promise of Psalm 68:6—“God sets the solitary in families”—and the powerful prayer of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:14-21 . . . and using a number of projected graphic images that are humorous and thought-provoking . . . we will briefly explore: (1) the pains of our families of birth and (2) the problems of families in the Bible, before concentrating on (3) the promises of our new families of choice.

We will see how God brings together those who are lonely and isolated—the “black sheep”—into new family groupings that demonstrate His creative and redemptive love. We will celebrate these new families for the warmth and safety they provide and the proof they give that there is room for us, too, in the family of God.
