Desert Oasis Chapel is one of Palm Spring's Christian churches supporting the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community. Desert Oasis Chapel is here for the gay and lesbian (GLBT) community and for everyone who supports them. The Desert Oasis Chapel mission is to clear away the clutter of judgment and condemnation and simply proclaim the life-transforming love of God that comes to us in the person of Jesus Christ. That’s the simple mission but there is a lot to it. I hope that this church becomes a place where lots of men and women feel really safe to be who they are and safe to discover the magnitude of God’s love. We call ourselves “open, affirming, inclusive and accepting.”

We'd be delighted to have you participate with us in Sunday worship. In all ways, Desert Oasis Chapel is open and affirming. We are a non-denominational Christian church that affirms you as you join us in worship, prayer, and searching for God's place in and purpose for your life. We proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the authority of Holy Scripture on all matters of faith and personal practice and the complete equality of all persons in the eyes of God. You are always welcome and any time this summer, if you have guests in from out of town, invite them to join you.

This week Pastor Nick is preaching the first of several messages from Jesus' teaching about letting go. This week we're looking at "Letting Go of the Pain - Insult and Rejection" taken from Jesus' words in Luke 6:27-30. This remarkable lesson is life-changing when you come to understand it but very challenging to put into practice. We're talking about this because it pertains to each one of our lives. I hope it will touch you where you may be hurting.

Every week new people are discovering Desert Oasis Chapel and are enjoying their return to church, often to their own surprise. They're finding out that "the Oasis" is not your childhood church - even if some of the songs sound familiar. "The Oasis" is a great place to meet good people and to get support and encouragement. The service, with Mark playing it cool it on the keyboard, begins at 10:00 a.m. at Wiefel's Chapel, 690 South Vella Road in Palm Springs. Whether you are a long-time believer, new in your faith or still seeking, we welcome you.

The world news is bad and discouraging, at our Chapel we share God's extraordinary good news.

Plan to stay after the service for a time to gather and talk, share, get acquainted right at the same location in the Hospitality Center. Set aside a few extra minutes for this Fellowship time, it really is a great way to meet good people in a town where that can be difficult.
